The Watershed Center is a retreat and resource center for changemakers. We offer seminars, workshops, consulting and organizational retreats designed to help people align their lives with their own deepest sense of purpose, to strengthen the creative capacity of organizations and to facilitate strategic conversations in service of democracy, ecology and liberation.

Our Center

The Watershed Center is located on a 73-acre farm adjacent to hundreds of acres of state forest, two-hours north of New York City in Millerton, New York. With 19th century farmhouses, post-and-beam barns, a 30-foot yurt, swim lake, hiking trails, waterfalls and a beautiful organic farm, our center provides a bucolic setting for visionary thinking. Central to our mission is making sure that our guests feel deeply nourished. Our farm fresh meals and homey accommodations allow our participants to relax and deepen into their learning experience. We offer participants a wide range of services, from morning yoga to retreat design and facilitation.

Our History

The Watershed Center was established as a 501(c)3 in 2007 to provide people and organizations committed to confronting ecological and social issues with the space and tools they need to develop wise and innovative solutions. Since 2007, Watershed has immersed hundreds of participants in programs and trainings that offer them with the experience, knowledge and practices necessary to build more meaningful lives and vibrant futures. In 2012, we purchased a permanent home for our center on a farm in Millerton, New York. After a protracted and colorful zoning and renovation process, we began hosting retreats and programs at our new center in the summer of 2014. Since our opening we have had the honor of hosting trainings on issues ranging from movement building and leadership development to yoga and youth empowerment, with participants from all over the country.

Our Core Commitments

  • Invite people of diverse persuasions to engage through their own wisdom;

  • Nurture the creative capacity of organizations, change makers and politicized healers;
