Calling queer and trans community! Join Emily Jeannette Kramer and Jacoby Ballard in picturesque Millerton, NY (2 hours outside of NYC) for this Yoga retreat. We convene this retreat during a federal holiday that honors the onset of +500 years genocide of Indigenous Peoples. This holiday renders invisible the current day displacements and struggle for sovereignty, land, and resources. The lineage of violence against native peoples stays obscure, even when every step we take is connected to this history by way of the land we live on. This weekend we bring to the forefront the many layers of our identities as queer people. Together we’ll practice moving our hearts and bodies through the travesty and utter joys of living and becoming.
Jacoby and Emily have taught together for over 5 years, both led Queer and Trans Yoga at Third Root in Brooklyn, co-owned the business together, attended trainings and conferences together. They know each other well and have varied and symbiotic teaching styles that lead to an intentional, open, caring environment for their students.
This retreat features asana practice in the morning and evening, dharma talks and discussion, reflection, free time to hike, swim, and explore, partner yoga, delicious locally-sourced meals and snacks, and mornings of noble silence. Come to this retreat to build queer community of the heart, creating space for deep work and joyous play. Suitable for all levels.
*Your payment covers room and board for all 3 nights of this retreat. Payment for both teachers will be offered by dana, or generosity at the close of the retreat; read more about dana & gift economics from our friends at the East Bay Meditation Center here.
